It’s Showtime for Custom Laminations
A classic 19th century Gramercy Park townhouse was transformed by an all-star cast of designers for the Showtime House. Inspired by the home lives of several of Showtime’s most popular characters, designers such as Vicente Wolf, Amy Lau, Kristen Brant and others, created room after room filled with inspirational ideas and fantastic looks. Custom Laminations worked with top-tier designer Jamie Drake on a Writer’s Spa and Study, for Hank Moody, the main character in Californication. Drake describes the space as “sophisticated and hedonistic” with one of the stand-out elements being the ivory UltraSuede that covers the bathroom walls—protected from stains, moisture and other damage by Custom Laminations, all without compromising the unique look and finish of this ever-popular fabric. We also provided paperbacking to guarantee the fabric was easy to install. Christi Rogers, our contact at Jamie Drake's office told us, "It's beautiful! Everyone is so shocked to touch the walls and realize it's suede...very nice indeed."

Think Big at the Hotel Chelsea
The Hotel Chelsea, New York City’s iconic artistic haven, proved to be the perfect location for the introduction of SpectraMotifs, the innovative collection of wallcoverings developed by Lu Hopkins, creative director of The CLI Group and produced by Think Big.
The installation, which took place during New York Design Week, showcased both the production capabilities of the Think Big studio as well as Lu’s distinctive approach to pattern design. The result was a collection that highlighted the amazing range of looks, textures, finishes and applications possible when digital technology is combined with true design vision.
“The Hotel Chelsea has a history of cutting-edge artistry,” explains Daren Silverstein, president of The CLI Group, “and the SpectraMotifs installation was created to introduce the architects and designers who attend New York Design Week to how we at CLI can work with them to achieve their visions.”
